Cabbage with Ground Beef
Cabbage with ground beef from Spoonsparrow – a protein-rich, healthy and delicious dish.
Ingredients
- 200 g Chinese cabbage
- 100 g white cabbage
- 100 g savoy cabbage
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion
- 6 tbsp olive oil (60 ml)
- 300 g Ground Beef
- 100 ml Vegetable broth
- 0.5 bunch Basil
- 2 fresh red chilies
- Salt
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 3 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
- 100 g white bread (about 4 slices; for serving)
Instructions

Clean, wash, remove thick leaf strips and cut the cabbage leaves into fine ribbons. Peel and finely chop the garlic and onion.

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant. Add the ground beef and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon. Add the cabbage ribbons and stir-fry for another 5 minutes.

Pour in the broth and cover to steam the cabbage for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Wash the basil, shake dry, pluck the leaves and cut into fine strips.

Wash the chilies, slice thinly and remove seeds if desired. Combine basil, 4 tbsp olive oil, salt, maple syrup, vinegar and chili with the cabbage and beef mixture and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Serve in small bowls with a bit of white bread.
