Cabbage Sausage Pot

Spoonsparrow’s cabbage sausage pot is a hearty stew that warms especially well on cold days!

Ingredients

  • 1 vegetable onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 400 g starchy potatoes
  • 500 g savoy cabbage
  • 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 800 ml meat broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 150 ml whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 Debrecziner sausages
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions

    Peel the onion, garlic and potatoes. Cut the onion in half and slice into strips. Finely chop the garlic and dice the potatoes. Wash, trim and cut the cabbage into small pieces.

    Heat oil in a pot. Add the onion and garlic and sauté over medium heat for 3–4 minutes. Deglaze with broth and add the potatoes and cabbage. Simmer for about 20–25 minutes.

    Add the cream, crème fraîche and sliced sausages and stir. Wash the thyme, shake dry and chop the leaves. Sprinkle thyme over the soup, season to taste and serve.
