Ingredients
- 800 g cabbage root (with greens)
- 300 ml whipping cream
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- 2 Eggs
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)
- 150 g shredded Gruyère cheese

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan.

Peel the cabbage roots, chop the greens and slice the bulbs into 0.7 cm thick rounds. Arrange them in a buttered portion casserole dish like roof tiles.

Whisk the eggs with the cream and crème fraîche, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour over the cabbage root, sprinkle with greens and cheese, and bake for 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven. Serve sprinkled with extra pepper.
