Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (e.g., wood‑oven or wheat loaf)
  • 1 can sardines (skinless and boneless in oil)
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 3 sprigs dill
  • Salt
  • ground pepper

Instructions

    Toast the bread slices until golden brown.

    Drain the sardines well, then mash with a fork. Mix into the cream cheese. Finely chop half of the capers and the dill; add them to the mixture along with the remaining capers. Season with salt and pepper.
