Blitz Tomato Sauce for the Thermomix®

The Blitz tomato sauce for the Thermomix by Spoonsparrow is always quick to make and really delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 onion
  • 3 sprigs Basil
  • 100 g sun-dried tomatoes (in oil)
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 425 g canned tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

    Drain the sun‑dried tomatoes and catch 3 tbsp of the oil. Peel the garlic. Peel and halve the onion. Wash and dry the basil, then shake off excess water. Add everything with the drained tomatoes to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 4–5.

    Add the canned tomatoes and chop for 5 seconds on speed 4–5. Add tomato paste, the 3 tbsp oil from the sun‑dried tomatoes, and honey, then cook for 4 minutes at 100 °C on speed 1.

    Puree the sauce for 20 seconds on speeds 4–7 increasing gradually. Season with salt and pepper.
