- 2 tbsp clarified butter
- 3 stale pretzels
- 1 l beef broth
- nutmeg
- Salt
- ground pepper (freshly ground)
- chive rolls for garnish

Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings. Gently sauté in hot clarified butter until golden brown.

Grate salt from the pretzels and cut them into thin slices. Distribute the sliced pretzels and onion rings among four bowls.
