Ingredients

  • 250 g soft butter
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 400 g flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 100 g peeled hazelnuts
  • 75 g dark chocolate chips
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection). Grease a Gugelhupf pan and dust it with breadcrumbs.

  2. 2.

Beat the butter, vanilla sugar, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and salt, beating until the mixture is pale yellow and creamy. Mix in flour and baking powder, gradually folding them into the batter. If the dough feels too thick, add a little more milk. Peel and dice the bananas; roughly chop the hazelnuts and fold them with the bananas and chocolate chips into the batter.

  3. 3.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove, let cool briefly, then unmold onto a plate. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and lemon juice together and pour over the loaf. Slice and serve.
