Ingredients

  • 1600 g mackerel (ready to cook, 4 whole mackerels)
  • Salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 0.5 Red chili pepper
  • 100 g Soft Butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped mixed herbs (e.g., parsley, chervil, dill, …)
  • 1 lemon (juice)

Instructions

    Wash the mackerel, pat dry, fillet (or have a fishmonger do it), and season with salt and pepper. Place one fillet on each of four large sheets of aluminum foil.

    Finely chop garlic and chili pepper and mix with butter, herbs, and lemon juice. Spread this mixture over the fillets and cover with another sheet of foil. Fold the edges together and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (convection) for about 25 minutes.
