Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 3 bell peppers (red, yellow and green)
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 beef fillet steaks (from the hip, each 180-200 g)
  • 200 g grated Emmental cheese

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (convection).

  2. 2.

Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Wash the bell peppers, halve, deseed, remove membranes, and cut into thin strips. Sauté the onions in a non‑stick pan with 2 tbsp oil, add the peppers and cook together for 3–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. 3.

Heat the remaining oil in the pan and sear the steak pieces all around until browned. Sprinkle ¾ of the cheese over each piece and top with the vegetable mixture. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top, lightly season with pepper, and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes.
