Ingredients

  • 2 kg asparagus
  • Salt
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash the asparagus and carefully peel it. Cut all stalks to equal length so they fit into a 1-liter jar. Clean the canning jars and rubber bands thoroughly. Briefly boil the rubber bands. Blanch the asparagus, let it drain well, and place it in the jars with the heads up.

  2. 2.

Mix about ½ liter of water with sugar and salt and pour into the jars. The liquid must cover the asparagus by 1 cm. Seal the jars with rubber bands and lids. Attach a canning clamp to the jar lid and place the jars in the oven's fat pan. Add water to about 2 cm height and heat at 175 °C until fine beads rise in the jars. Turn off the oven and remove the jars after 30 minutes. Let them cool slowly.
