Ingredients

  • 4 Spring Onions
  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 egg
  • 350 g mixed ground meat
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 4 Tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

    Wash, trim, and cut the spring onions into 5-6 cm pieces.

    Peel and finely dice the shallot and garlic. Mix with ginger and egg into the ground meat. Add breadcrumbs until the mixture is firm enough to shape. Form into four patties. In a hot pan with 2 tbsp oil, fry both sides for about 6 minutes. Add teriyaki sauce, 1-2 tbsp water, and honey; finish cooking the patties for another 1-2 minutes, basting and glazing them.

    In another pan, cook the spring onions in the remaining oil for about 5 minutes until golden brown.

    Halve the burgers horizontally and toast the cut sides until golden. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, place the glazed patties with spring onions on top, cover with the other half of the bun, and serve.
