Apple-Cinnamon Tart by Spoonsparrow: The French classic enchants your senses with a hint of cinnamon.

(1)

Ingredients

  • 3 apples (e.g., Boskop)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 200 g quark
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 40 g powdered sugar
  • 20 ml Calvados
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 4 cloves of peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp sugar-cinnamon mix

Instructions

  1. 1.

Mix flour with sugar, salt and peppercorns for the dough. On a work surface, form a well in the center, crack an egg into it, and scatter butter pieces around the well. Quickly knead by hand into a smooth dough, shape into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  2. 2.

Wash the apples, core them, and slice thinly. Drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.

  3. 3.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat. Butter the tart tin.

  4. 4.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface, line the tin, shaping a rim. Mix drained quark with egg yolk, 4 tbsp powdered sugar, Calvados and cornstarch. Spread the quark cream over the base. Arrange apple slices on top, sprinkle peppercorns, and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes until golden brown.

  5. 5.

Remove the tart and dust with cinnamon-sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature, cut into pieces.
