Almond Cookies

Ingredients

  • 200 g soft butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 20 ml ouzo
  • 2 Eggs
  • 400 g flour
  • 125 g ground almonds (peeled)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 ml orange blossom water (pharmacy)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Whisk the butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the ouzo, eggs, flour, almonds, and salt and knead into a dough. Form two rolls, wrap in cling film, and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C fan (convection).

    Divide the dough into about 50 pieces and shape each into small elongated cookies. Place them on baking trays lined with parchment paper, spacing about 2 cm apart. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Remove, set on a wire rack, and brush with orange blossom water. Dust with powdered sugar and let cool.

    Before serving dust again with powdered sugar if desired and serve with coffee.
