Ingredients

  • 1 chicken (ca. 1.2 kg)
  • 2 carrots
  • 250 g okra pods
  • 250 g yams
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green chilies
  • 3 tbsp peanut oil
  • 50 g peanuts
  • Garam masala
  • 800 ml chicken broth
  • Salt
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

    Wash, pat dry, skin, debone and cube the chicken. Peel and dice the carrots. Wash, trim and cut the okra into pieces. Peel and dice the yams and onion. Wash, trim and slice the chilies into rings. Roughly chop the peanuts.

    Brown the meat in hot oil. Add the vegetables, sauté briefly, then add the peanuts and garam masala. Deglaze with chicken broth and season with salt. Simmer gently for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and cayenne pepper before serving.
